A pick-up truck with a plow on the front came through my road and skimmed the surface once yesterday, leaving it nice and icy. Then I guess the sun was contracted to take care of the rest.
Why isn’t Marilyn Avenue contracted to be sanded when it snows? Marilyn Avenue, the main entrance to Glen Haven, is a dangerous stretch of road in inclement weather, since it stays shaded. Therefore extra effort should be made to ensure residents safety in and out of Glen Haven when it snows and ices over. Somebody please let me know why Marilyn Avenue and Mason Drive are not contracted to be sanded, because I don’t get it. If the current contractor doesn’t sand, then find someone else. In my opinion, the GHPOA Board is being cheap and keeping the funds for their own agenda.
The Board’s pathetic attempt of placing three nearly empty, self-serve trash barrels of barn sand is an insult to the residents of the community. The adjoining neighborhood, Potomac Terrace is clear. Their dues are obviously spent correctly.
I am putting the Board on notice that if my car, my kids’ cars, or someone’s property is damaged from our sliding due to icy roads in this development trying to leave for work or come home, I will hold the Board responsible for deductibles or damages since NO effort has been made to ensure safety, and that the Board was made well aware of the problem. I have legal counsel too.
I moved back to Glen Haven 6 months ago after living here for 8 years on Connie Avenue. I moved back to this community because I liked it, my kids were raised here. Wow! This place is not like it used to be. Mr. Bob Mason and fellow neighbors made sure the roads were cleared.
What does this Board do to benefit our community? I really want to know.
